University of Hull Beach Hideaway at Humber Street Sesh
For the Humber Street Sesh Festival, 2018, we created a Beach Hideaway for the University of Hull, to promote their plastic pledge message and provide a little retreat from the hectic festival atmosphere.
The custom built beach was part of an ongoing project to collect plastic waste, to be used as part of an installation the Drunk Animal Creative Studio team were designing and developing for the British Science Festival 2018.
Plastic waste was exchanged for branded ‘keep cups’ throughout the festival, with more than 5,000 being distributed.
We designed the installation as a fun talking point and place for people to meet, listen to some live music and enjoy a relaxing drink.
As well as the Beach Hideaway we created a huge 12ft high pint glass (and 4 smaller 5ft versions) to collect plastic waste from around the festival site.
