PR & Communications Officer – Full Time Position

We are looking for a self-motivated and talented PR & Communications Officer to join our experienced and ambitious communications department.

In this position, you will be responsible for producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition.
The primary role of the PR & Communications Officer will be to increase the reach and impact of Drunk Animal’s profile and visibility through the delivery of high value and influential marketing, communications and PR in the UK and internationally, as well as managing and producing content for a range of clients.

The role of the PR & Communications team includes creating informative content, press releases, articles, and media opportunities to share our company’s brand, products, and services. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with brilliant presentation and organisational skills.

Create informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials.
Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.
Prepare detailed media activity reports.
Work with different company departments to generate new ideas and strategies.
Supervise written content on projects to guarantee content is publication-ready.
Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
Ensure all content relating to the company or client has a consistent tone of voice and is ‘on brand’.
Manage multiple social media channels, ensuring content is relevant and engaging.
Identify opportunities for media exposure, awards and accreditations and prepare all necessary content for submissions.
Engage with local and regional media to place the company as a thought leader.
Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
Foster relationships with advocates and key persons.
Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce copy for advertisements or articles.
Perform “damage control” in cases of bad publicity.
Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors.
Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Media Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in a communications role.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Docs, content management systems, and social media platforms.

Personal Qualities
You should be able to work effectively on your own or as part of a wider PR & Comms team.
The ability to work under own initiative and to deadlines.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships with external suppliers

Working Days & Hours:
Monday to Friday
9am to 5pm

Salary: Dependent upon experience.
Location: Drunk Animal Creative Studio, Hull
