The last five years have brought enormous changes to how Drunk Animal Creative Studio works. Our agency began life with most of its clients being based in London, Liverpool, and Manchester. This was because our Creative Director, Calvin Innes, saw a gap in the market for high-quality, proactive and exciting marketing for the education sector. We still deliver fantastic ideas for dozens of schools, colleges, and unis across the UK, but we’ve also become the go-to provider of disruptive campaigns for all types of businesses right here in Hull.
Working to a five-year plan, 2018 was the year when Calvin decided to expand the DACS team by taking on multiple specialists from a range of disciplines. We now have a team of experts that individually know how to get the most out of graphic design, social media, web development, events management, copywriting and video production, simultaneously collaborating on a daily basis to combine these skills to bring exceptional results.
As you’ll have seen, our website has been through intense redevelopment, including our We do cool sh#!@ tagline, which immediately gets across our pride in creating unique, eye-catching campaigns and branding solutions, all of which get businesses noticed both online and in the physical world. From working with the University of Hull to promote their new relationship with Team GB, to launching The Rooster Club, our one-of-a-kind networking programme, we go above and beyond to smash any misconceptions about marketing being boring or having boundaries. Put simply, everything we work on is specifically created so that it’s accessible, interactive, relatable, informative and, most of all, f***ing cool!
In Calvin’s own words: “We are an ideas company. We imagine innovative and creative ways to market you and your brand, your event or your business to a wider audience, then we make those ideas a reality. We thrive on not just thinking outside of the box, but redesigning and rebuilding the box.”
With recent activity including a giant turtle made out of abandoned plastic, a Durex exhibition in the Ferens Art Gallery, robot waiters at the British Science Festival Dinner and Calvin taking part in a TEDx Talk, it’s clear that we’re always ready to take on any challenge. The next few months will bring further expansion of the DACS team, the development of our web and animation departments, awesome projects for all kinds of prestigious brands, and tons of creative expression delivered in every format you can imagine.
What’s more, YOU can be part of our evolution. We’re always looking to meet interesting and passionate people who want to make the world a better place through marketing, art, music, events and small business, so get in touch and tell us about what makes you tick. Or if you prefer social media to emails, find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and hit us up!
